As a dj I get a lot of underground and unsigned music. Normally I trash the crap that I get or give it to someone else. It takes a lot to impress a hardend veteran like me.
A month ago I got this email from a kid in LA. He said hes comin up and wanted to know if I thought he had what it takes. I shrugged him off for a few weeks but he kept at me. Finally I gave in and listened to some of his stuff.
Rogan's music is filled with spirit and hope. His messages are not thugy or gangster and he mentions his family doubting him and everyone telling him to quit and go to college instead.
I would describe his music as a mix between 2Pac, Eminem, and Kanye. His producer deserves a pat on the back too. The beats are all elegantly put together and the tracks are mixed close to perfection.
I have been listening to the same 4 songs for the last 6 hours and its not getting old at all. My favorite track being "Fast Lane (Darkest Days)"

Stop the pointless talking on your damn cd's Thats it, the next time one of you "thugs", eventhough your a skiny ass pussy bitch, sends me your damn cd and talks about a bunch of bullshit before or after everysong... or hell even during the hook. Im gonna find you and whoop your monkey ass. I am fucking tired of editing your gay ass voices out of my music so that i dont have to listen to five minutes of you talking about yourself. I mean god isnt that what rap music is? its just rhythmic talking to make u look cool so dont fuck it up with more talking. Jesus no wonder the only way some of you can get laid is to pose as artist.
when i was younger i dreamt of romance, of love at first site. Never did it occur quiet the way i had assumed. I know most people think boys run around thinking of girls as icky, or not caring for this love. I was different, I always craved that moment when i would see a girl and know right then that I my own life would take for her. That the maker of all things beutiful made her the fairest and the most wonderous amoungst all his creations.
That passion drove my early writings of country music, but somewhere down the road I lost that fire, that dream, that hope. I recently purchased Romeo & Juliet the movie with leonardo dicapprio and Clare Dains. If you need to rekindle your passion I highly reccomend this movie. The actors are all wonderful and movie is beautifully adapted to a modern setting, but they still speak the original script as written by William Shakespeare. The scene where Romeo first sees Juliet made my heart leap. The actors said nothing and yet you could feel that love at first site connection that you always knew had to happen when the meet.
"did my heart love until now for swear at site, for i did not know beauty until this night" Romeo, Romeo & Juliet

What are you Thankful for? Take heed to always give thanks for all that your have, for there is always someone with less that will never know the pleasures that you take for granted.
Every once and a while an artist comes along who writes and performs with pure passion. In the past these artist for me have included Garth Brooks and Elton John. Similarly they were both top selling artist in their genre. I was never huge hip-hop fan. Growing up in the conservative mid-west and on a farm no less rap music was not tolerated. It was not until i was a freshman in college (1999) that I heard a rap song by an artist and in his voice I heard a passionate sound. The sound was coming from my roomates room. The album was Infinite and the song was titled the same. The artist? it was Eminem.
I have a knack for finding artist with passion and conviction and as I expanded my horizons I was moved deeply by the pain, the anger, and the passion in Eminems Lyrics. It is no surprise to me that he as obtained the heights that he has in the hip-hop and mainstream music world. As a loyal fan of his music I opted not to download his new cd, but went and bought it.
Encore is nothing less than any Eminem fan would expect. Some songs make u laugh, some make u think, and others might bring you to tears. I highly recommend this album to anyone even if your not a fan of hip-hop you might find something you like and who knows maybe like me you'll stop being narrow minded and open yourself to new experiances.
Stumbling around the post-election net looking in all the political cracks and dark alleys I found an intresting site. The site claims that the U.S. is illegaly occupying the Islands that make up the only state that is entirely surrounded by water. The site contains information to support their claim and even displays a quote from the current governor given in his 1998 state of the state address.
"The recovery of Hawaiian self-determination is not only an issue for Hawaii, but for America. ... let all of us, Hawaiian and non-Hawaiian, work toward a common goal. Let us resolve ... to advance a plan for Hawaiian sovereignty" - Democratic Governor Ben Cayetano
check this out! go to BET.com and search for "Fat Joe Lean Back" the second site should be titles "Fat Joe Dies during recording of 'Lean back'" its on of my blog post.....
I can just imagine some of the BET community freaking out... hehehe
In the debates tonight Kerry distanced himself from me by two things. He mentioned his 'Earned Citizenship' idea that would allow parents of U.S. citizens to become citizens without anyother strings.... so that means they need to cross the border and have a child in southern texas, and their citizens. In my opinion that is a shitty idea.
Towards the end of the debate Kerry also mis-pronounced the word Idea, saying instead 'Idear' THREE times! and I hate it when rednecks in Kansas say it, let alone a learned man from Boston that went to Yale.
By the way I wanna bang the bush daughter that was in black... Bush daughter in black, I want you.... come to Dragon, feel me... and my dragon
I had the pleasure of being stage crew for the 'Recycled Percussion' show here at ESU last night. Although it was brief i got to meet with DJ Maf Ioso. He showed me his setup and we talked about records briefly.
DJ Maf Ioso showed great talent in scratching and mixing clashing styles. I, as a dj, was impressed with his ability and how the group blend him into their show.
Do yourselves a favor and check out 'Recycled Percussion' @ RProcks.com
At the age of 52 after years of suffering with a spinal cord injury the man we all knew as 'Superman' has died.
His death was caused by comlications from a bedsore. He went into cardiac arrest on Saturday and Sunday he slipped into a coma and died.
Christopher Reeve's suffered from paralysis caused by a 1995 horseriding accident and used his unique position to catapault the issue of stem research into every american home and into the current political debate between John Kerry and George Bush.
He had Vowed to walk again, and has been making progress since 2000 when he was able to move his index finger. There is no doubt in my mind that had not something as trivial as a bedsore taken him down, that he would have been walking in a few years.
Reeves was a hero to children and a champion for research along side the likes of Michael J. Fox. He will surely be missed and I am now off to find all the superman movies.

I know her real name... and I got drunk with her at the Phi Delt house last weekend. To prove my point further she just signed up on a forum for students at my college: E-State Talk.com
Just thought it was odd that one of the first people she commented for was me.... and she didnt even know that I am me. hehehehehehe
