Secondly, if you vote against a candidate for "mispronouncing a word", you would surely vote against Bush!!! LOL!!! Bush can't even pronounce his own name. Clearly you aren't acquainted with those who are from Boston. You sound like you were biased against Kerry anyway. Alot of brain-dead sheep will be killed and/or impoverished by Bush--- Hope you're filthy rich dear! posted by: adpierin11 (reply) post date: 10.13.04 (10:53 pm) yeah I agree with SpyMaster that second reason is lame. All I have to say is if Bush wins GOD HELP US ALL!!!! But that's just my opinion. posted by: newbie (reply) post date: 10.14.04 (3:30 am) Reply to: SpyMaster first off ive been to Boston and DJed there, never once heard the word 'Idear' tossed around, secondly Ive been to Arizona where it is commonly used... oops oh my god the debate was in ARIZONA. Hmm? Biased towards flipity floppity? no, I have not made a decison on which candidate I wish to vote for, nor will I urge anyont to vote one way or the other. They all (3) posses traits and ideals that appeal to me. And it not just mispronouncing a word, that word happens to be one of my pet peeves so fuck you. And that is what he said. We already have a citizenship program and what he is suggesting is saying "ok you got us, this one time we'll give you amnesty" Rome did that and look what happend. The Ostrogoths and the Visigoths were key in tearing apart the great Empire. I will not vote for someone just because you say he will do this or that. You are not that person nor am I. I will vote for someone based on what I percieve that I and the nation will GAIN, not what we will LOSE. In this Election Americans have been swayed by the media and peers like never before and so many people seem to be against the incumbent. All the while the polls (which i used to do) are showing a near dead heat. Hmmmmmmmm do we have closest Republicans hanging out with the liberal crowd? So to both of you I say Stop deciding NOW who you will vote for and pull your head out of your ass and examine the real issues. Once you've done that and voted on NOV 2nd then you can tell me who and who not to vote for. posted by: elusivestate (reply) post date: 10.14.04 (12:52 pm) YEAH! dont let stupid political nerd faces try and tell you what to think. ps- i am hotter than jenna, but not as hot as barbara. posted by: elusivestate (reply) post date: 10.14.04 (1:01 pm) Reply to: SpyMaster Clearly, you are also biased. And just so you know, "firstly" is not a word. Sincerely, Lisa posted by: forgetregret (reply) post date: 10.19.04 (3:30 am) Hey just so you know...the requirements for becoming a citizen are not all that difficult... Also it is important to note that if a person crosses onto American soil at this point in time and has a child, their child is a U.S. citizen and they are allowed to remain with the child until the child reaches the age of 18...the naturalization policy explains a person must reside on U.S. soil for a considerable amount of time, and be a good person in order to become a citizen. The government typically views any amount of time between 7-15 years as ample. As long as the person is able to pass a citizen test, they become a citizen. So if you do the math....from birth to 18...that is more than enough time. These are the current laws in effect...to this day...actually one of my roommates and her father will become citizens tom. and I have read alot about it. Unfortunatly, many of these people do not understand their rights prior to obtaining citizenship...and are therefore often mistreated in the workforce. So what Kerry is suggesting is not so unheard of. Also, SpyMaster is correct...Kerry was referring to the bulk of illegal immigrants from Mexico, who earn under minimum wage because they are not registered citizens, and their employers swindle their way around the system... It is interesting that you noted this election has been inundated with media...when you yourself have been influenced, and is clear from you statement..."flipity floppity" --when you are 50 please look back and tell me if you think the same way you did when you were 20 years old... You stated, " will vote for someone based on what I percieve that I and the nation will GAIN, not what we will LOSE." what are you suggesting the United States will lose? posted by: dragons5 (reply) post date: 10.20.04 (6:00 pm) Reply to: forgetregret please keep replies brief, im a busy college student without the time to read this much. And no Kerry's plan will not fix the problem, if anything it will increase illegal immigration, just like giving illegals the right to drive. Here is how. Lets say i am a pig farmer on the border and I hire u the mexican for like $10 per week and offer u a room with a cot to sleep in and three squares a day. Then the goverment comes in and finds that you are here illegally, but that you deserve amnesty, now you can go get a legal job making 10 times what I was paying. So off you go, but you tell all your friends in mexico so they come to work for me, now I have twice as many illegals in the country and in five years the number will double again. If people are here illegaly how are they paying taxes? they arnt, and the money they send to mexico... not taxed either. I agree forgetregret the requirements for being a citizen are simple, so why give them amnesty? Instead we should bill mexico for sending their illegals back, patrol borders better, fine and jail people hiring illegals, and educate mexicans/latinos on how to become U.S. citizens, and make English a national language. Merely trying to absord them into our culture 'as is' will cause a catastrophy. Again I will point to ROME and the illegal migration of Germanic tribes into the borders of Rome. Rome tried to solve the problem by allowing certain tribes amnesty, but all that did was cause conflict and the tribes refused to speak Latin, Follow roman law, etc.. this lead to the division of Rome and eventually factored into rome's demise. |
